301 Redirect can save your SEO

301 Redirect can save your SEO
Maintaining the URL structure on a website redesign can be impossible sometimes. If the URL structure is not set up properly, then it would be destructive for an online business. The 301 redirect will attempt to direct some power over the new URL from the old one.

The “301” lets the search engine know a page has been moved to a new Url or destination. It allows a site to try and maintain some power of the URL without losing the ranking.

Accessing the .htaccess file will complete the task. To set this up differently depends on how the site is constructed. If there is no .htaccess file in the root directory, then open a new text file and create a new one. You only have to wait for Google to go through the update to make sure all goes well. You may have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks for everything to appear in the search results.

This is the safest way to launch a new site and keep all the power and work while marketing the existing site.
